New Naxos Composer Linking

October 2008

New to this release of IIMP is the addition of hundreds of new Naxos Music Library composer links. Mutual customers will be able to see these links in their IIMP Quick Search results or by using the Browse Reference page. Clicking the link opens the composer page in Naxos Music Library enabling the user to browse and listen to a complete list of the composer's work.

Following the upgrade to Naxos Music Library II there is a change to the authentication method of linking from IIMP to Naxos. This has been implemented to improve security between the sites and to help libraries track usage. For further information go to the Customization page in IIMP or contact Naxos at customer.service@naxos.com.

Updates to the title spreadsheet

April 2008

We now include subjects covered for all titles so that it is easy to see the wide range of subject coverage of IIMP. We also indicate when a title has been selectively indexed. More information about selective indexing is available here.

New design and functionality now live!

July 2007

The International Index to Music Periodicals has a new look - and vastly improved functionality. We invite you to explore the site to discover the new features. Here are some highlights:

  • To get an overview of the main areas of the resource, view the product demo.
  • On the Search Articles page, you can now limit keyword searches to citations only or to article full text only in order to perform more focused searches. Results can be sorted by relevance, oldest or most recent record first, and alphabetically by journal title. Sophisticated filters make it easy to narrow down the results and find relevant entries.
  • To save records and searches for future use, create a My Archive profile. You can log in at any time to add or delete items.
  • Subscribe to RSS feeds in the What's New area to receive regular product updates, such as information about new journals and functionality.

We hope you enjoy the improvements we have made, and we welcome your feedback. Please tell us what you think by filling out a form on the Contact Us page.

Naxos Music Library (NML) linking

November 2006

The first implementation of linking is now available for subscribers of Naxos Music Library and International Index to Music Periodicals (IIMP). Subscribers of Naxos Music Library may request the enablement of these links, which direct users from IIMP records with subject terms of the linked composer names into Naxos Music Library composer pages, which list the available Naxos music files for those composers. In this initial implementation, we have used the Naxos composer category to establish these links with IIMP. By using this composer category, linking is currently enabled for over 955 composers. The implementation will be expanded in future releases to include more categories and deeper, more direct links into Naxos music files. To request the linking, please go to the Librarians' Resources section, Outbound Linking.

November 2006

IIMP has a new reference area which contains a glossary, opera synopses and music fundamental terms all published by Naxos. Alternatively, users can limit their searching to the reference works by clicking the 'Search Reference' link from the home page or left hand toolbar.
